Top Gadget Ideas For Keeping Your Car Organized

Today I am sharing tips and tricks for maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.  To do this successfully I will share with you a few fun and useful gadgets that I bought for my car.  These are not very pricey, and in fact are a big help in keeping everything organized in the vehicle.

What I have learned about cleaning up and decluttering a car is that it is not a one time thing.  You have to do it on a regular basis.  Otherwise within a few days of a thorough cleanup, you will find your car in the same state of mess.  You need to set up a system so that you do little cleaning up chores on auto pilot (haha).

I did my research, bought these car related items and reorganized my car about a month ago.  I can say these are a godsend for keeping peace in the car on trips, and knowing where everything you need is.  Having these items in the car has improved my driving experience so much that I have decided to give some of these gadgets as gifts to my nieces and nephews who are first time drivers; some having bought their own cars and some getting ready to move to dorms or out of the house.

As there have been supply chain issues with many things we use around the home lately, I realize now would be a good time to order the car gadgets I want to give as gifts this holiday season.  I would urge you to start early, and order some of these items that I have found to be very useful in keeping my car organized.

First of all, make sure in the glove compartment you have good quality, sturdy envelopes to hold registration and insurance documents. I also have the vehicle manual in the glove compartment, along with a small zippered purse that holds some change and some small denomination cash notes. I also have a working flashlight in the glove box. I place hand warmers and a pair of gloves and a hat in the glove compartment during the winter months.

I have placed the car safety hammer in the center console for easy accessibility. Its an escape and rescue tool; the hammer is intended to break car windows in an emergency and the seat belt cutter on the other end is to cut your seat belt if need be.  You will find the link to the safety hammer I bought below.

A few cleaning supplies are in the driver’s side door of my car for easy access.  This includes all purpose cleaning wipes.  Below the wipes I keep clean gel.  This is great to use on technology as well and is a great stocking stuffer.  It gets all the dust and dirt  located in those hard to reach places that a regular rag will not be able to pick up. When I am done using it I pick any large pieces of dirt out of it and put it back in the container.  The last cleaning item is a micro fiber cloth for dusting.

A first aid kit is another essential item to have in your car, and a good place to store it would be in the trunk organizer. A blanket will be useful if a day suddenly turns chilly. Also a hand towel and a large bath towel can come in handy in emergencies or on road trips. Pack a picnic blanket if you are the sort that likes to have impromptu picnics in the park. All these items can be neatly packed in a trunk organizer the link to which you can find below. I also carry one of those folding chairs in the trunk for such last minute plans.

1. Motorbuddy Car Safety Hammer

The most important gadget for new and experienced drivers is the Motorbuddy Car Safety Hammer which has a Seat Belt Cutter on one end and the Auto Emergency Escape Hammer with Window Breaker on the other end. This must be placed in the center console so that it is easily accessible just in case you need it in an emergency. This is a must have in the car, and something I am getting as a gift for some new young drivers I know. I bought the 2 – pack for both of our cars.

2. Digital Tire Pressure Gauge

I bought a set of these Astro Digital Tire Pressure Gauges for our 2 cars. There are designed to maintain correct tire pressure, reduce tire wear and extend tire life. Digital display reading instantly and clearly lights up, and so much more convenient than analog gauges. Backlit LCD display and Lighted nozzle helps with visibility in dimly light areas. This has 4 settings and can be used with cars, bicycles or trucks.

3. NOCO Boost Plus GB40 Jump Starter Box

A set of jumper cables or an emergency jump starter pack like this one is a must have in every car. You can safely jump start a dead battery in seconds with this compact, yet powerful, 1000-amp portable lithium car battery jump starter pack. It’s a car jump starter, portable power bank, and LED flashlight that can recharge smartphones, tablets, and other USB devices. Plus, it is an LED flashlight with seven light modes, including emergency strobe and SOS.

4. Heavy Duty Booster Jumper Cables

If you prefer to get the old fashioned jumper cables, these ones from amazon are a good buy.

5. Multi Compartment Car Trunk Organizer

After research, this is the best trunk organizer I found for my needs. These last for many years and help so much with keeping your belongings secure and in their place even when you brake. It has multiple compartments that r makes car organization easy with enough room to hold grocery items, jumper cables & more. This can be placed in the trunk, or can also be used in the front or back seat for long trips.

6. Car Trash Can

A special car trash can is a must have if you want to keep your car clean. I found this trash can and so far am very happy with it.

For now, I have placed it below the glove box on the passenger side. It easily attaches to the car floor mat. It is perfectly sized for repurposing grocery bags as trash can liners. Whether cruising around town or planning a long road-trip with children, this trash can is a must-have!

7. Car Seat Hooks

I have absolutely fallen in love with this very simple item and cannot imagine how I managed without these hooks for so long. These are ideal for hanging purses, bags, grocery bags, or masks or anything you can think of.

Hope that some of these items I am using and talking about also become your favorites for everyday use and as gifts for the upcoming holidays.
